After 3 really awful bad beats in the row, I decided to quit a session and finally start my blog. Here I will put my random thoughts, badbeat stories 🙂 homeworks and overall progress.
My name is Vladimir, I’m from the Czech Republic and currently living in Prague. I was born in the strong year 1984 🙂 so right now I’m version 3.3 of myself. I have finished some schools and university, nothing really interesting. I have one beautiful little boy and one awesome wife. Also, another child is on the way 🙂 I have a fulltime job, which I don’t hate but also don’t like, but my job giving me the opportunity to put enough time into poker, not that much I would imagine, but I am able to put around 150 hours into poker. In the middle of January, a joined in CFP 6-max crusher program and got into the group that is coached by Lateralus, who pretty cool guy, he looks very confident in every spot we bring to the coaching, he went recently through the same stuff like we are going through right now, so he knows this shit and so far he looks like he got some talent to teach people as well, so overall I’m happy. Before CFP I took poker as a hobby which gives me some extra money, but when I start to beat nl50 (250k sample 6bb/100) I took some shots in NL100 but it always failed and then I realized, that I can’t do it just by myself and need some teacher or mentor and group of people around me with the same goals, so I decided to give it a try with CFP, wish me luck 🙂
When I think about what I really want to reach in poker, what comes to my mind is that I don’t exactly know. And it’s mostly because of the fucked up situation with online poker in the Czech Republic and I’m not sure (ok nobody is really sure), how it will look like let say next year. So I decided to give poker 100% at this moment, work really hard and try to get to the limit, where the real money is, let say NL200. That’s my main GOAL, reach that limit and settle there. Then we can think about something else, like POKER PRO or even move into some nice place where is a better situation for online poker.
Where I am right now
Right now I’m playing NL25 and getting familiar with all those lines and ranges completely new for me. Instead of volume, I’m focusing on quality and because of that, I’m playing just 4-6 tables. I have to say, that its pretty hard and sometimes I catch myself to be bored because I used to play 8-10 tables and it seems harder to get into the flow when I play this small amount of tables, but we will get there 🙂
Thanks for reading. I think I will update my blog few times per month, post some results, spews, crying posts and homework. In the end of the month I will post overall results. GL at the tables 🙂March 6, 2018 at 5:05 pm #402243

Thanks for a good advice, I’ll do my best.
I will focus on pricticing with Uhlvar equity and post my results here. My goal is to get 20 situations with av time below 10s and av error below 5.March 8, 2018 at 10:18 am #402950March 10, 2018 at 12:05 pm #403684
I did one misclick, so without it, it would be in the range less than 5 err, less than 10s.
I got pretty good run at the beginning of the month and right now I’m a leader of best player of the march in the crusher group, which I’m proud of 🙂 Let’s work even harder and stay there even in the end of the month.
I can fell big improvement since I joined BPC and that motivates me to play and study more.
I’ll post some results in the middle of the month.April 1, 2018 at 9:57 am #410329
Time to summarise the month of MARCH.
For me it was the most productive month since I play poker. I have played 122 hours and around 50k hands. It still disappointing, because I wanted to play 60k minimum, but the excuse for me is that I got really sick at the end of the month and also I was visiting my parents for 3 days.
I can see the advantage of the guys who can play whole days and play let say 150k hands per month. It is just the fact, that you are learning a lot just by playing a lot. Yes you can pick up some lines and theory, but if you don’t play a LOOOOT you won’t learn, how to apply them correctly.
I also upgraded my grinding setup, bought a new computer and one more monitor and it should help me to put in more hours and more hands.Spoiler:
Results wise its pretty disappointing. Except for few days at the beginning of the month, I was running like a shit, won’t complain too much, because I know I will beat this limit anyway 🙂 But one thing I have learned this month, don’t play when you are really sick. Not just you feel like a shit, but also your mind is fucked, so just live with that fact and take the rest you deserve :).Spoiler:
Profit: +487e + some bonus to come
Plan for next month:
April 1, 2018 at 5:54 pm #410376
- play at least 3500hands in your playing days
- reach 60k hands
- study the boot camp before the session
- do the uhlvar exercise every day
- prepare for the coachings perfectly
- don’t complain about the run, just grind and focus on every decision
- do the workout at least 4x per week
- jogging before every playing day
The first day of the month and first stop-loss 🙂 Hit my set in 3bet pots twice – YES that’s awesome, finally running better 😀Spoiler:

And don’t know how to use the spoiler, bigger tilt than after those hands lol.April 4, 2018 at 11:53 pm #411147
So just finished my worst session probably in my poker career. I hit 2 stop losses in one day. One thing is really positive, I was not on a tilt at all, I mean yes I was frustrated, it just normal when you loose AA vs QQ 450bb pot allin preflop. But still could clearly think about the lines and made good decisions.
Ok tomorrow is another day, I think I’ll just study a bit more and play less.April 29, 2018 at 11:54 am #416547
I don’t really know where to start. I don’t know if I’m disappointed or in the end happy with the results. Ok, first of all, I post some graphs that you get an idea what I’m talking about.
This month was probably the toughest one in my ‘career’. There were days in this month, where I was questioning myself if I can really do it if I’m tough enough to withstand all the downswing, all the disgusting badbeats which I will have to face every day if I want to be a PRO. And I came with a conclusion, YES I CAN BE THE TOUGHEST GUY AT THE TABLE. I realized during this month, that only ones that can handle these times better will be successful. When I felt frustrated, I always asked a question. Does all the spite I’m feeling right now (after sick badbeats etc.) really help me to achieve my goals and dreams? FUCK NO. I have to enjoy the game, which is one of the reasons I play it and the results will come alone.
I want to point out one thing. I’m really struggling with one specific site, which is boss media. I keep depositing there and withdrawing from other sites. I run probably really badly there, but I make more mistakes than on the other sites for sure. The reason is, that the game is kind of different there, kind of similar to the live game. It seems to me that its all about bluff catching vs donkey lines (f.e min donkbet/call, min donkbet/call, bet 1/2 or 2/3 or very frequent x/overshove in SRP when I have a OP ), but I’m never right, they always have it. Let see if I can make some profit there in May, otherways I would consider to close the account there.
Graph Boss MediaSpoiler:Spoiler:
So am I satisfied with the result in Aprile? Ofc NO, I can do much better and there was a time when I was not playing my best just because of the results and I will work hard next months to improve my MENTAL GAME because its very important part of the great game of POKER.
Am I safisfied with volume in Aprile? YES I am. 51k hands is I guess close to my maximum I can play, giving the fact I got full-time job and one 2 years old kid. Yes I could imagine to sleep better (6hours is just too litlle for me) but I always saying that we will catch it up when we retire 🙂
Results since I joined CFPSpoiler:Spoiler:
Goals for May:
-play just 6-7 tables maximum
-focus on the improvements suggested in Database Report
-go through the river chapter
-prepare for every coaching session no matter if you are the main student or not
-Uhlvar equity every day
-at least 50k hands
-MOST IMPORTANT IMPROVE MENTAL GAMEMay 13, 2018 at 10:33 am #419074
I decided to update my blog every 25k hands so that’s gonna be probably one more times than usual. This month starts pretty well, I made some profit and I am studying the river chapter, which seems like the best material so far and I will go through it very precisely:)
What is more important, that I can feel quite a good improvement in my mental game and what helped me the most, that I start to look at it like a separated game, totally different one from poker and when I want to succeed in POKER GAME I must be better than the rest in MENTAL GAME. Yes sometimes it’s not easy but its not for anybody. (Yes Mental game of poker:)
Let’s look how the graphs look like.
25k hands MaySpoiler:
That’s it for now, see you probably in the end of the month report 🙂June 5, 2018 at 10:16 pm #422359
Hey, I’m a bit late for a monthly report, but better later than never. I will make it quite short because I’m not in the poker mood right now, because of the ridiculous swing I got at the end of the month which still continues. I would say that I’m not on the tilt, but the biggest problem is that I don’t have the motivation to grind it off like usual. The weather is really nice, its hot in the room, less fish at the tables after all, not good conditions to play poker especially on the downswing. So my main goal for this month is to finish at least break even, but even right now I can feel that’s gonna be tough. Everything is possible in poker, so lets fucking do it!
July 2, 2018 at 11:17 am #430900
- Play at least 30k hands
- Do Uhlvar Equity every day
- Study at least 1 hour after every session
- Stretching in the morning, then take a cold shower
- Workout at least 4x a week
- Meditate every morning
So the downswing from the end of the May continued and this month was the worst since I play poker. Last 35k hands I’m on 30 BI downswing. This month I did realize how poker can be absurdly tough and this (i mean the downswing) can be even worst and you can not do anything about that, the only thing you can do is to stick to your plan and make the best decision.
But I realized one more thing, even though that playing poker really hurts those days, I still FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME and this downswing just make me MUCH STRONGER.
-Play at least 30k hands
-Do Uhlvar Equity every day
-Study at least 1 hour after every session
-Stretching in the morning, then take a cold shower
-Workout at least 4x a week
-Meditate every morningAugust 13, 2018 at 8:40 am #435861
Back from a vacation and its time to update my blog and focus on poker again because its what I really want to do right now. I enjoyed the time off and the vacation, but on the other hand, I really missed playing and studying poker. AND THAT’S GOOD THING. The run in July was much better and so the results. But the volume. The volume was terrible. It was so hot in my room, that I was not able to focus for a longer period of the time, so I played shorter sessions and sometimes when I had time to play, I just said its too hot, fuck it. The good thing is, that I started to shot 50NL and I don’t see it much harder then 25NL. So July is behind me, it’s much colder in my room, so let’s focus on the rest of the August and try to play at least 30k hands.
I will not make the goals this month and will do whatever I feel its +EV to do at that moment. CHEERS and GL at the tables.September 7, 2018 at 12:12 pm #438312
My second son was born 😀 So I don’t have much time right now, but I hope, I will find the way to grind at least 30k hands in October anyway. So I will just post my results and go out with my son 😀Spoiler:
