I told before i was gonna post monthly but i`ll go for twice per month. This ways is more clear to see progress.
First of all, im gonna talk a bit about my life and poker carrer. Quite fast and short so you dont get bored to read.
m graduated in Computer Science since 2012. But after a year working to a company, i realized i didnt want that type of “prison” where ppl control you, say when u have to work, when to take vacations, which project you gonna take, etc. Plus, the money was quite shit. So i quitted my job realizing that i really wanted a work that gave me Freedom to work whenever i wanted, and Flexibility to make my schedule the way i wanted.
So i started researching and i found about Poker. I discovered that Poker unifies 3 things that i value most: Meritocracy, Freedom, Flexibility. There
s almost no way a poker player having profit over 2 years playing poker to be considered a Bad poker player. But, theres a way a manager of a company to be in this position just bc he
s a friend of the BOSS and not bc hes good on what he does. And believe me, that happens quite a lot at least here in Brazil.
I found about SnG 9max on stars on June 2016 and started playing with coaching, watched videos, etc. By November i increased my BR and started playing MTT SnG and, after researching and studying more i realized the MTT was the way to go bc it was quite soft.
From 2014 to 2016 i played only MTTs having sporadic coaching and studying on my own. I had good success on this format on avg BI of 50, made good money, etc, but by November 2016 i realized i didn
t have much of the Freedom and Flexibility i was looking for. The thing with MTTs is that once youre in a tournament, u just leave when you lose all your chips or win the thing and nobody knows “when” you gonna bust or win. So i had the freedom to START a session but i didn
t have control over when i was going to FINISH it. Plus, i needed to put a lot of volume bc MTTs have one of the highest variance of all formats. Plus i believe the "long run" on MTTs is becoming longer and longer. Back in 2013, it was acceptable that a high stakes MTT winning player to have 6months straight losing bc of variance. Nowadays its normal to have a losing year bc of variance.
So i switched my approach and started to look for the most skill with less variance type of poker out there, that would also give me Freedom and Flexibility. I realized i had to go to Cash games even though they are tougher than MTT
s. Since i didnt knew anything about this format, i looked for a type of coaching that would be forced to teach me the right way not just “i pay, you teach for 1 hour and leave”. That`s when i found about BPC on twoplustwo and this CFP type of coaching which is great, bc it forces both sides to be honest and it creates a high value path to succeed with all the material, coaches, support etc.
In January 2017, before signing in the contract i had doubt between 6max and HU. I thought either one was going to be ok bc there are lot of success stories on both in CFP. I chose 6max back then bc i thought it would be easier to adapt coming from MTT`s.
So i started on 6max on January 2017, and by November 2017 i decided to switch to HU bc i realized that with the same effort i was putting on 6max, i could make more money on HU. November was my best month so far, then on December i lost all i made in November . I lost mainly from bad run i believe, but there are mistakes as well.
Now in January, things are shitty still but, lets keep trying without losing the smile.

Here`s my favorite quote so far in my life. This quote boost my motivation to pass the rough times like now.
“Practice while they sleep,
Study while they have fun,
Persist while they rest,
Live what they DREAM”
I dont know who said it but it doesn`t matter.January 12, 2018 at 9:59 pm #382816

All the goals are going well, except for playing hours mostly bc of stoploss. I`ve hitted 2 stoploss early in the past 2 weeks. Hope i can compensate it next week.January 21, 2018 at 6:44 am #385128

1. Play 200h – Done (played 215)
2. Watch all content – Not quite bc i was getting overwhelmed with more information and trying too hard to implement new stuff. Since im on a breakeven/downswing stretch, i thought would be best to just focus on content to reinforce the basics.
3. Post 3 hands daily/comment hands – Done
4. Attend sessions – Done
5. Practice uhlvar – DoneFebruary 1, 2018 at 6:26 pm #389791
Goals for February..
– Play at least 200h – 25k hands
– Attend coaching (take notes)
– Post 3 hands daily/ comment hands
– Uhlvar exercises on each playing day
– Watch content reinforcing basic lines
– Plan each hand i play
