May ended up being a very good month for me and I set some new records for myself: most played hands I’ve ever had in a month (by far) and highest result. My previous best month was 3k in winnings (directly from the poker table) and in May I had 5k so that was pretty nice. With rakeback and cashback I also hit the goal of 6k so that was great. I’m very happy to have had a good month again after the end of Mars was pretty painful and April just sucked.

    sick volume, great job! :)

Thanks, the last half of the month I got a great amount of action. It could actually be a lot more if I had put in more hours.

    its alot of hands! gratz!

    Thanks!

So this week is going very well so far. I’m playing okay and winning coinflips like a champion at nl400. In the end of next week I’m going on vacation, which kind of sucks now that I’ve had pretty decent results. I’ve noticed that my worst results have usually been in periods after I came back from holiday so that’s pretty disturbing. I’ve decided to bring my laptop with me on the vacation and play at least a little bit so it’s easier to transition back to playing when I come back home. It’s pretty good internet where I’m going so that will not be a problem.

Until I’m going on vacation I’m pretty much only going to do poker and go for some walking trips. That is what I plan to do for the rest of the summer as well.

Well, scratch the previous post. Today I had my worst day in a long time. I don’t think I played any worse than I usually do, just had a lot of gut-wrenching stuff happen. It was one of those days when you “know” that you’ll lose when you go all-in no matter how far ahead you are.

    Highlight of the day:
    Hero (SB): €233.78
    BB: €336.09

Hero posts SB €1.00, BB posts BB €2.00

Pre Flop: (pot: €3.00) Hero has  9 A

Hero raises to €8.00, BB raises to €24.00, Hero calls €16.00

    Flop: (€48.00, 2 players)  3 A 4
BB bets €46.00, Hero calls €46.00

    Turn: (€140.00, 2 players)  5
BB bets €138.00, Hero raises to €163.78 and is all-in, BB calls €25.78

    River: (€467.56, 2 players)  2

BB shows  9 8  (Straight, Five High)
    (Pre 28%, Flop 1%, Turn 3%)
Hero shows  9 A  (Straight, Five High)
    (Pre 72%, Flop 99%, Turn 97%)
    Hero wins €233.28
    BB wins €233.28

Still, to be fair, the week is going okay. And I was lucky in many spots earlier so some shit like this was bound to happen sooner or later.

The last couple of days I’ve had some troubles to fall asleep which is really annoying and first time it has happened with me. I usually always fall asleep pretty easily as long as it’s quiet. I remember one time I had turned my day completely around and then hit stoploss at about 4-5 am after being awake for about 8 hours, went to bed and np. But now I lay awake for hours before falling asleep and then wake up after like an hour. Whatever, it’s probably just something temporary.

Today I’m going on a vacation to Nice. As I said in a previous post I’ll probably play a bit when I’m there just to keep things fresh.

I’ve been thinking a bit lately about my goals in poker, and I for sure must make some new ones. In the beginning of the project I would be happy just to reach 2/4 and grind that, and don’t get me wrong, I am happy about it, but I’m pretty sure I can reach further. In May somethings seemed to change and I’ve had big improvements in both my volume and my winrate. Since 1st of May I’ve played 70k hands with a winrate of 11.5/100. Before 1st of May I’ve played 207k hands with a winrate of 7/100. Hopefully I’m not on some sick heater and run 5 BBs 0ver my true winrate over 70k hands, that would be pretty sad. So yeah, now my main goal will be to reach high stakes. Maybe I’m just riding on high confidence from an upswing, but still I want to play high, and knowing myself I’ll work much more effectively by putting it as a goal. It’s time to have some high ambitions.

So I’m back from vacation. It was a good time, but now it’s back to the tables. This summer will be pretty interesting because I got more time than ever to play poker. Almost all of my friends have gone back to the other side of the country for the summer vacation so I don’t even need to spend one second of the day doing anything social. My main goal for the summer is to average 12 hours a day on the tables.

June went really well for me. First week I got a lot of action and almost played more hands than I did in the months I had my fewest hands. In the second week I didn’t get as much action, but ran really well. After those two weeks I didn’t play much.

The last week has been so-so. I started playing on monday and had a great start, but then it started plummeting and I had my first -1k day in a while on thursday. I ended up taking friday off and recovered losses on saturday and sunday. I didn’t reach my goal of 12 hours per day, it’s much harder than I thought it would be.

Yesterday after playing for a decent amount of time my wrist started to hurt pretty badly so today I went and bought a mouse with a tracking ball or whatever it’s called. It’s a bit weird at first, but I think I’ll get used to it soon enough.
