Ok session. One rather unpleasant hand when I barreled a set which rivered a full house all-in into rivered quads. One I’m going to look into where I 3-bet 77, got a 865r flop and B,B,XF as it ran out Q J. On the one hand I don’t hit that board OOP hard except for the sets and on the other neither does he. Another unpleasant 4-bet pot where someone who was on the verge of reg \ maniac squeezed on BTN and called my 4-bet when I RFI from UTG with 87s and hit an 8-hi flush draw flop. I c-bet small, shoved turn with whole of range because it’s nearly all overpairs although certainly worth looking into because I’ve got other suited overcard hands to go with the pairs so perhaps AKo shouldn’t be shoved especially since I has A of the suit reducing his chances of having a flush draw significantly. Well, not that significantly if he’s got 87s.

Yesterday and today spent mostly on court documents. Got a few hours in though.

S1: Biggest was a bit weird. I 3-bet COvUTG and called the 4-bet with KK. Flop is all spades, I have Ks and it’s T-hi and UTG checks, then calls a bet from me. Turn is another low spade and he bets small and I call. River is a blank and he shoves. His stats were starting to look weird but sample was still small so I just shrug called and he had AQo, no spade.

S2: Biggest was a bit of a fuck up. I 3-bet AKs BTNvUTG and called the small 4-bet. Villain was small sample but was trending tight so I didn’t fancy it all-in pre. Flop is 775 giving me the flush draw and UTG c-bet small. I call. In two minds here since I could shove but that folds out AKo leaving pairs although admittedly I do have nice equity against QQ and lower. Turn is 8 with no flush and he shoves for pot and I call. I felt committed but let’s say he sheds his AKo on the turn leaving him with big pairs. If so it’s a fold. If he’s going for it with range then the call is ok. He had AA, I had 20% and I binked river.

A fun one. I 3-bet JJ COvMP and called the 4-bet. Flop is K99 and it checks through. Turn is 6 and it checks through. River is J and he leads for 75% so I shove and he folds.

Court stuff all day but finally got a few hours play in.

Biggest was AAvKK SBvBTN slightly deep. Then flopped a set in a 3-bet pot and XR small enough to entice a shove. Then iso-raised and called the limp shove from a 80bb stack who had A5s vs my JJ. All good outcomes – defining of course a good outcome by the decision. I lost the actual hands themselves. 🙂

Same work pattern as yesterday although I did get some study time in.

S1: AAvKK all-in pre-flop twice were the only 2 big pots. Won both, very lucky.

S2: Biggest was facing someone who 4-bet A2s then tripled off on AT2 5 K when we were 130bb deep. Pity I had AA. For him.

The band of pots that cause a win/loss between 10bb and 20bb is still causing me trouble. I think. It could be that these are potentially big pots where I’m making a good decision to get out early. It’s just I’m losing 80% of them.

S1: XR a double gutshot and nut flush draw and managed to hit on the river and get called. Similarly AA tripling off as an overpair in a 3-bet pot. Very uncomfortable hand with QQ. 200bb effective, I RFI MP, CO 3-bet, SB cold calls and SB is the fish so I 4-bet big which is something that the group had discussed a couple weeks back. CO folds but fish calls. Flop is A-hi. I c-bet small and fish calls so I give up.

S2: Wow. Really fought hard this session but the card were not going to let me win a stack and were going to let everyone else have one from me. AA in a 3-bet pot on A92 5 6 runs into 43. AK on K53 4 7 runs into a turned flush. AA on Q93 8 runs into the straight. KK runs into AA. AKs on J65 4 with flush draw runs into 66. JTs on 772 with flush draw called the 3-bet UTGvBTN and runs into 75s. AQ on Q53 4 7 runs into 66. 66 on J76 7 A runs into A7. Then on the list of biggest hands we get to one I won. Brutal.

Woke up really depressed as a result of yesterday’s beating. Tried playing much lower stakes and took more beating. So spent the next 6 hours studying. On a Saturday. Jesus.
