So, from 19th to 22nd of February BPC people are gathering in the picturesque place in Italy called Bormio. Bormio is a small town famous with its winter sports facilities and the hot springs. We assume you have some questions about it.
What are we going to do in Bormio?
We are going to ski or snowboard in the daytime and play poker cash games, have drinks and talks in the evenings.
What if I never tried downhill skiing in my life? I suspect I can’t do it.
You can learn it, just take some lessons in a group or with a private instructor. There are plenty of them.
I don’t want to learn skiing! What can I do instead of it?
Bormio has some hot springs and SPA centers as the result. You can enjoy them in the daytime. Also, there are a few sights in Bormio and around it. The most famous is Military Fort Venini in Oga.
Which airport is the closest to Bormio?
The closest airports are Milanese airports Bergamo Orio al Serio, Linate and Malpensa.
How to get to Bormio from an airport?
Perhaps the easiest way is renting a car in an airport. If you are lucky and your flight arrives at the right time, you can take the shuttle Livigno Express that stops at Bormio. The timetable is here. If you are stingy adventurous, then you can have an exciting journey with lots of train and bus changes.
Where can I stay in Bormio?
The poker cash games will take place at Sottovento Luxury Hospitality. There are more good hotels with good prices like San Lorenzo Hotel, Rezia Hotel and Funivia Hotel.
How much time do I have to make a decision?
Very little. The rooms in the hotels in Italian ski resort are being sold like hot cakes. And we are not exaggerating. Ski resorts like Cortina d’Ampezzo, Val Gardena, Kronplatz are fully booked till the end of the season. Bormio has a few places left only because it’s located a bit further from the main road. Thus we suggest you booking a hotel right now. In 3 days there could be no space available.
