The Russian Phenom: Timofey “Trueteller” Kuznetsov

The identity of “Trueteller” was a mystery for years until a young Russian phenom named Timofey Kuznetsov came out of hiding for the 2015 WSOP in Las Vegas. Kuznetsov had been crushing online high stakes cash games under the Trueteller alias but finally revealed his identity to the other players at the table during the course of normal conversation. Still, not much is known about Timofey Kuznetsov aside from the fact that many of his peers consider him to be one of the best in the game.

In an interview with PokerListings.com, Team PokerStars Pro, Mikhail “innerspy” Shalamov said this about Trueteller:

He said to me, “if you risk that much money in one session you better give zero information about yourself and your game to the public”. Trueteller is a poker wizard. He learns new poker games and strategies so fast. When PokerStars introduced the cap games on the nosebleed limits, everybody started to play the same way – except for Trueteller. He had an excellent win rate at the cap PLO tables, as he was the first player to make a million dollars in those games and had twice as much profit as the second best player. His brain is dedicated to playing poker.

According to HighstakesDB, Trueteller’s early success came from his heads-up battles with Viktor “Islidur1” Blom on Full Tilt’s high stakes NL tables. He’s an all-around player, however, having won nearly $2 million in profits at Full Tilt’s 2-7 Triple Draw games alone, and has also performed well in NL and 8-Game tables on PokerStars with over $1.3 million in cash game winnings. He rarely plays live tournaments but has nearly $3 million in winnings from the 2015 and 2016 Super High Roller events, and is also rumored to be a big winner in some of the highest stakes live cash games around the world.

Just in the past week alone, Trueteller has taken down some of the biggest pots in online poker against “Ravenswood13” at PLO $100/200. Take a look at these replays from 3 of his most recent hands at high stakes PLO on PokerStars. He’s killing it!

All-In on the Flop for $66,504.14

River Shove for $64,886.56

3bet River Spot for $56,023.26
