Last month, Alessandro was the top winner in all of the Coaching for Profits programs.
He made €9,3k at the tables (so close to €10k! I’m sure he’ll get it this month!) and reached €30k, so he only needs €30k more to become an NLHU Soldier finisher.
So we had a little interview with him:
When you started playing poker and when you decided to take it more seriously?
I started 9 years ago when I was 19. A friend of mine introduced me to the game and I saw I could have an edge. I started studying it rather than just playing it and it paid back.
I’ve never said to myself: “from now on I will be more serious about poker”. I took it seriously from the beginning, my purpose was to become a professional poker player and so I approached the game professionally since day 0.
How did BPC help you to improve your game?
BPC is a huge advantage, all the guys are quite nice and I love Gordon’s “no bullshit” approach.
The work that is done behind it, breaking down the game in small pieces and helping people better understanding it is huge.
In my opinion, no other poker school is even comparable to BPC.
People need to understand that it is the only place where your both goals are in line, hence there are no conflict of interests like in other places in which it doesn’t really matter if you make money or not.
Who has been your favorite coach so far in the NLHU Soldier program, the one that influenced your game the most?
M1ndcrtl! We do understand each other quite well and he can get why I do what I do.
It’s difficult to describe but he’s unique and he is helping me a lot.
Where do you live and how is it to live there and what do you like a lot about it?
I’m living in London right now. It’s a cool place but it is extremely expensive. I like the environment over here, it is mentally stimulating.
Any tips for motivation for your fellow grinders?
Just think about the long term.
If you could give one advice to your other players, what would that be?
