Today’s question is:

What is the biggest mistake most of your beginner students make?

Gordon: “They don’t listen to what I say and try things on their own.”

Era7er: “Instead of trying to understand why we do something, they just do it. You can’t do that these days.”

Alan Jackson: “Overcomplicating the game. It’s a complicated game, no doubt, but much more simple than most think. In all but the highest stakes, over-complicating the game will always lead to sub-optimal strategies which erode the win rates.”

JurassicDaniel: “They don’t select their villains very well.”

m1ndCrtl: “Play randomly without a solid step by step strategy”

Asimos: “They apply concepts the wrong way before mastering the basics. At micro-stakes the most important rule one has to follow is to value bet hard vs the fish and fast play when you hit a strong hand (in most cases).

Thanks again for your answers!
