by kerwinty on our No BS 6-max course

This is unsolicited and maybe a tad long wanted to post. I play 6 max. Have been doing so at 10-50nl since moving to Ecuador after black Friday. Have yet to have a month in which I didn’t withdraw at least half to 3/4 my bankroll for my living expenses in 27 months here. Until November. Had the first and worst disaster week in over a year during a 3 day grind marathon with no stop loss so yea, was quite depressed about my game. Couldn’t withdraw, but thankful for RB which made the ds, run bad and terrible play not as disastrous. Anyway since switching to ipoker speed, it is lots of regs and so I tried to adjust based on my experience and instinct. First 160k hands were super. Amazing RB and crushed at the tables. My win rate was a 2xtwice zoom. Then regs adjusted, I adjusted to them poorly, had longer tilt session etc and was still positive win rate but had huge swings and lots of variance. I needed to do something. Got the book and all I can say is wow. Very small sample but my stats are better, my ranges are better, my lines are basic but better, and it’s going well. I’m staying away from 4 betting the agro reg with aj etc and am stealing a tonnnnnnn more. I love it. Will post graph though it is a lol sample. New players should stick straight to the book, others with experience can exploit fish if they know how, but the ranges in the book and lines are pretty spot on. So I’ll try to upload the graph and this is at a site that because of rake, I doubt more than 7 percent of players beat the speed game before rake but am not positive on that. Again lol sample but.

This is 22bb/100 pre-RB and is obviously not sustainable. But the “basic” things that got me back to a solid game are more precise and tight ranges with a lot more focus on position, stealing a ton more, not calling min-raises to UTG and middle opens no matter what my hand if not in the chart (has kept me out of stupid variance -ev spots), not going out of way to tangle with the better regulars just for giggles, and folding a ton more to 3 bets. I still exploit fish on my own though and change my lines a little but you can stack the fish following instructions in the book as well for sure. Anyway, again not sure why I felt compelled to write as I don’t know Gordon from Jose Manual down the street but am happy with the small adjustments and results so far. No doubt I’ll still have a terrible run in the future at fast fold, but following some important guidelines from the book will keep me from leaking and playing bad during this time. At least I think and hope so. Thanks.
